This week’s Facebook Live show focused on the difficult and sometimes avoided subject of victims coming forward and reporting suspected sexual abuse. We also discussed the importance of both education and awareness in helping to prevent future incidents. We interviewed Stacey Honowitz, head of the Broward County State’s Attorney’s Office Sex Crime Unit, an accomplished author and television legal analyst.

Stacey referenced her two excellent books, “Genius With A Penis” and “My Privates Are My Privates” to illustrate the importance of teaching young children about the dangers of sexual abuse and how and when to report “inappropriate activity” when interacting with adults. We took a look at a sample of some of Stacey’s network television appearances in providing legal analysis and commentary on some of the biggest sexual abuse cases involving: Michael Jackson, Bill Cosby, Jerry Sandusky, the Duke Lacrosse Rape Case among others.
