Live Shots

Live shots are “talking head” interviews where guests are booked at remote studio locations where they cannot see the anchor or host interviewing them. They are usually seated in front of a city skyline, library bookshelf or branded show graphic. Hooked up with a lavalier microphone clipped to their shirt (or jacket) collar, and an earpiece to hear the show’s programming, guests stare straight ahead into the lens of a camera. Once the tally light turns red, they’re live on the air and it’s Showtime!

A Satellite Media Tour, often called an SMT, is a series of television and radio interviews broadcast from one location. SMTs feature book authors, athletes, celebrities, company spokespersons, and others who promote a brand or company and communicate their message to a wide audience.
