Autism awareness was the focus of this liveshot filmed at our South Florida remote uplink studio in Fort Lauderdale. We welcomed Thomas D’eri, the co-founder & COO of Rising Tide Car Wash. Thomas was live on Al Jazeera America’s “Consider This.” D’eri and his family, through their business, Rising Tide Car Wash, provides jobs to youths with autism. Thomas D’eri’s brother, Andrew was diagnosed with autism at the age of three and was the inspiration in starting the business.

A new documentary entitled “Sounding the Alarm” portrays the “autism epidemic” and debuts Tuesday August 26th on Netflix, Amazon Prime and iTunes. The film explores the social, economic and medical hardships that those afflicted with autism and their families face in this country. The Rising Tide Car Wash is one of the positive stories in “Sounding the Alarm” as the company gives those with autism a chance to be productive in the workforce.

A special thanks to Duree Mellion Ross and her PR & Marketing Firm,  Duree & Company, who represents the D’eri family and has helped bring awareness to the autism epidemic.
