Our South Florida uplink, remote studio (servicing Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach Counties is covering the latest developments in the case of Adrian Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings star running back who was recently charged with child abuse. A grand jury indicted Peterson, and he was charged with child abuse in the beating of his four old son. The Vikings had Peterson scheduled to play this weekend, but suddenly reversed course (deciding to bench the star player) after being strongly criticized by fans and several womens’ advocate groups. Our state of the art HD studio in downtown Fort Lauderdale, welcomed back, Joy Taylor, co-host of the Zaslow and Joy Show at the Ticket Miami to discuss this case on MSNBC’s The Reid Report with Joy Reid. The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) is standing by Peterson, saying he took a “voluntary leave with pay to take care of his personal and legal issues.” The Vikings have barred Adrian Peterson from joining the team again until the child abuse charges are resolved. Peterson has been charged with felony child abuse, after whipping his four year old son with a wooden switch. Photos of the injuries shown to the Vikings reportedly show Peterson’s son sustained bruises and a breaking of the skin. Peterson turned himself into police in Houston, Texas shortly after the photos were released. If convicted, Peterson could face up to two years in prison.
