Our Fort Lauderdale uplink studio welcomed former WWE star and author Chris Nowinski to our studio set for an MSNBC liveshot this past weekend. Chris Nowinski was joined by former Chicago Bears quarterback, Jim McMahon, discussing the dangers of head injuries in contact sports. In 2006, Nowinski authored the book, Head Games: Football’s Concussion Crisis, which has brought major media attention to this issue. Chris’ wrestling career would end after competing in the WWE for only a couple of years, after suffering a full year of “post concussion symptoms.”

In 2007, Nowinski helped found the Sports Legacy Institute with the goal of helping to solve this “concussion crisis” in sports. He is considered an expert in the field of concussion related research and awareness.
